That would be 9 total electrons and 7 valence electrons

Oxygen is number 8 on the periodic table hence it has 8 electrons and now your adding one since 1- means it has gained another electron
8+1=9 so you have 9 electrons if its O 1-
For valance we know that there are 6 electrons in a neutral oxygen in its valance shell so now if its O 1- that means
6+1 =7 so 7 electrons in the valence shell
