it cost six hundred because of the Blu-Ray drive it has. Blu-Ray drives cost at least $900 by them selves. I wonder how much money sony will lose due to the cost of it.
In my opinion don't buy the PS3 because the Cell's Architecture is badly broken causing it to run way slower than anticipated.
Hope this helps!

i could get the 60gb ps3 in case you will locate one. The 80gb ps3 has equipment faults in some ps2 titles, and the 20gb is not obtainable. you will ought to accomplish a little seeking to locate a 60gb ps3, even though that's going to be well worth it.

Obviously the 60 gigabyte because its more expensive. But I say get the 20gb because its cheaper and you can use the money for anything else. Happy Thanksgiving, and Happy WIi and PS3 launch day!!

The 60GB version. It has a HDMI port, chrome plating, and of course, 60GB of memory. You will never need a memory card again. It's worth the extra $100.

If someone held a gun to my head and I had to choose between a gay 20gig PS3 and a gay 60gig PS3, I would choose the lame 20gig PS3, because that way I would only spend $500 instead of $600 on a piece of junk.

This depends entirely on your needs. If you can get by with the 20 (tough part-and not need the w60 later) then the 20 is faster. the smaller the hard drive the faster it will perform, but you would need to be professional level to take advantage of the difference.
