Alex Ferguson was my boyhood hero. Aged 19 on a foggy winter day in Govan Dec '62 he took on Rangers at Ibrox, single handed..scored a hat-trick for St. Johnstone..could've had five!
Who could forget the days of Law, Best and Charlton. Even the Scots admired and respected Bobby when he played us at Hampden. George Best, coming back after a week on the p**s, scoring six against Northhampton...Big Peter saving a penalty against Arsenal in the cup in the last minute, then Giggs running the length of the field, beating ten men to score the winner..the last minute never say die goals in injury time to lift the champions league trophy..this is the stuff legends are made of..you could not make it up!
Cannot understand why MUFC are so hated down south..maybe just envy?
