Red bone marrow is a highly vascularized connective tissue located in the microscopic spaces between trabeculae of spongy bone tissue.About 0.05-0.1% of red bone marrow cells are derived from mesenchymal cells called pluripotent stem cells.these cells have the capacity to develop into several different types of cells.
Stem cells in red bone marrow reproduce themselves, proliferate and differentiate into cells that give rise to blood cells, marcophages, reticular cells, mast cells and adipocytes.

In order to form blood cells, pruripotent stem cels in red bone marrow produce two further types of stem cells, called myeloid stem cells and lymphoid stem cells.
Myeloid stem cells begin their development in the red bone marrow and give rise to red blood cells ,platelets, monocytes, neutrophils, eosinophils abd basophils.
Lymphoid cells begin thier development in red bone marrow but complete it in lymphatic tissues, they give rise to the lymphocytes.
