Why is it that many of the more astute and "attractive" men.. are gay? Why?

Could it be that the pressures and rubbish involved with modern dating simply makes it no longer attractive to date the oppostie sex??

I just heard that more single women are promiscuous, racking up massive debts, yet living free with parents.. then we have the 51% divorce rate.. and its no wonder we have a low fertility rate..

I have noticed many old friends with whom I always partied and who had never ONCE shown gay traits.. EVER are now turning to having casual sex with men.. simply because they can;t find happiness with a female..

I understand too.. my last g/f of 5 years.. could not cook, never helped me clean the house I provied FREE.. and treated sex like a carrot on a stick.. then demanded i spend money on her and wait on her endlessly.. she was no different to the other g/f's i had sadly..

But dare I ask her to put off a drink night with the girls!

So is there a problem here?

Sex between men existed already in ancient Greece, usually among rich aristocracy and it wasn't considered tragic, pathological or bad in any terms.

However, women of that time were not treated as free and equal individuals and had no right for vote, education or property.

So, the answer is no. Feminism made women more free and equal, but some men have troubles to accept it. However, we can say, the same way that lesbianism is caused by male chauvinism, but we usually don't think that way.

Your girlfriend is maybe a bit pampered and if she expected you to spend money on her, I am not sure how emancipated she was. This is certainly not the intention of feminism.

In my personal opinion being gay is not caused by feminism. As far as I can tell it is genetic in nature. Gay animals exist and man being an animal can also be gay. Also, when you consider the personal pain that many homosexuals must endure, many would choose not to be gay if they could.

Personally, I am hetero but if I could choose to be gay I would. I don't want a family and I don't want to be married. If I were gay there wouldn't be a risk of children and society (US) seems pretty damn determined to stop gay marriage. BUT I'm not gay. I like women; I don't really have much of a choice in the matter. Your friends were most probably always gay/bi and somehow they've come to accept who they are. Why don't you ask them as a non-judging friend and see what they say?

Society and what people want from others is getting so confusing. Men who are handsome and can get any girl they want are afraid of being hurt . Women with attractive men are more jealous and demanding, making the men turn against having a relationship with females. and as some men try on women's clothing they like it too much.
I have heard a few men say that they like the feel of silk and smooth things against their skin. so that may explain some of it.
silk stockings and silk slips and so on...
as for some women they can be turned off by guys because of bad relationships . so they go for their own sex ..

i'm completely at a loss as to why you're able to think of that castrating gay adult males, or certainly any adult males, could help feminism. Why could feminism would desire to motel to such barbarism to bolster its reason? in fact, if this kind of situation could "help" feminism, then it could look that feminism isn't something which must be promoted in the 1st place.

The problem does not appear to be with feminism, but rather with a selfish ex...

Feminism is just the idea that women aren't inferior to men, that we are equals - and different.

As for single women racking up debt... I guess it is possible, we need to give some kind of economic education to girls. Living free with their parents? I don't think so. divorce rate? how do you calculate the divorce rate of a group living with her parents? it does not make much sense.

Try to get a gf more into being and less into appearing - you may be surprised by how many interesting things she has to say, and how much kindness can be displayed.

It seems that you are also confusing some issues here.

First, a selfish ex. Whatever she said, it does not sound like she was promoting or living a lifestyle which aligns very well with feminism.

Second, men sleeping with men DOES NOT mean gay. You noted that they are having casual sex with men, but have the stopped dating or being interested in women? Sex with anyone, regardless of gender, can be a fun experience. And, is this casual sex with men as a replacement of casual sex with women?

Third, what is a "gay trait"?

Fourth, "low fertility rate" due to women living for free with their parents, massive debts, and promiscuity? Please cite your sources.

Fifth, the notion that feminism causes gayness is interesting. I can see your logic, but I don't agree with it. If your male friends can't find happiness with a female because of feminism, perhaps you and they should think about why that is. Feminism wasn't born to make men unhappy with women, it was born to create room for women to be respected by men, in part. If men are unhappy with it, perhaps those who are unhappy should think about what adjustments can be made in their lives to find a common ground with women. That is to say, women have made changes in their lives to be happier. The reaction is that it might have made some men unhappy, BUT there is also a ton of room for men to change as well and find a common ground with the women who are making themselves happy.

By change, I suppose I mean that men could begin to understand why women felt that there was a need to change - because of antiquated ideas and roles. Men, believe it or not, also have antiquated ideas and roles which are enacted and encouraged each day in society and these roles can be changed. The problem isn't feminism, I wouldn't say, but the lack of common ground that feminism has brought up. It has challenged the male role which makes men feel kind of left out and useless and therefore get defensive (and begin to claim things like "women belong in the kitchen" and "women aren't good for anything but cooking and cleaning" etc.). So, it has challenged the male role but the male role is not equiped for the challenge as it is considered to be infallible and therefore inchallengable. Once again, the issue isn't feminism - it's the space it left.

I think that FINALLY ... Finally - 20 years after my whole spiels, etc and books on this problem ... Finally, some are beginning to wake up to the terrible havoc feminism has caused society.
I call it the Most dangerous doctrine we've ever had to face! ...
and more destructive than Hitler!

It has killed countless babies, separates men and women in ways that eventually become, almost insurmountable ... has set 2 wonderful sexes that used to be best friends and have solid, warm relations as husbands and wives into cheap 'what's in it for me' relationships of turmoil and broken homes and displaced children.
So far, it has also probably done more to lie and destroy some of the beauties of religion and its value to society than almost any other past Movement/force/doctrine.

It has entirely ruined economies, the housing costs and situation [via the need for 2 houses or more for a family to live in rather than all in one - divorce - thus putting economic pressure on housing prices], and lost jobs worldwide via a number of different interworking factors.

Male-female relationshhips no longer are at simple ease as to what each does and can expect ... Women teachers have made girls out of boys for the past 30 years!!
And we all wonder why on earth we're all going GAY and 'fairy'!!
We even believe in fairytales now: "Evolution"!

Gayism will eventually prove the entire destruction of 'Man'.
Remember: I TOLD YOU.

Yes. Yes it does.

Because, obviously, being a homosexual is soooo much easier than being heterosexual. Y'know, what with all the acceptance and tolerance, the whole "Gay Marriage Act" that passed with overwhelming support which ensured that homosexual couples can marry and recieve the same benefits and rights as married heterosexual couples. Yep. Homosexuality is such a great choice now that gay-bashing and homophobia is a thing of the past in this great country of ours, and gay people can openly walk hand-in-hand down the street without fear of having insults or worse hurled at them.

Yepperee bob.

The problem is that you think being gay is associated wtih the fact that some men are "becoming" gay just because they aren't finding luck with women. When the truth is they are just discovering who they are. Life is a journey, sometimes people don't realize or accept who they are until they have dated women or had other life experiences. I would encourage your buddies to accept who they are...and as for yourself keep searching there are good women out there!

Greek men were sleeping with other greek men thousands of years ago, and Ancient Greece was a very patriarchal society.

So no, feminism does not cause gay men. Homosexuality existed long before women's rights did.
