Lots of animals make good pets. It depends on the age of the person taking care of the pet. I would suggest something like a hamster, gerbil, guinea pig, rabbit, etc. I have a guinea pig and it is very easy to care for. Hamsters and gerbils, as well as mice and rats are relatively inexpensive and there are lots of options for their housing. Besides that there are fish, hermit crabs, birds. There are tons of options. It's really up to you!

Rabbits are cool, but they require a lot of attention to get them that way. They can be litter trained, and don't have to be kept in cages, if you give some things around the house a little thought. Our bunny actually jumps up on the bed at night to sleep. She is extremely affectionate and always wherever we might be.
They don't get that way by accident. You have to invest a significant portion of time bonding with them. Once that is done, they will always be right by you. The litter training isn't very difficult. Given the right set of circumstances, they do it themselves. If you are interested, feel free to e-mail me.
Do some research first. Bunnies have some specific requirements, but, once you know them, it's a breeze.

I have had 12 ferrets and I love the little guys to death...when my daughters all left the coop and I found myself totally alone...my one daughter brought me a ferret and asked if I would take care of it.....my question at that point was "what is it?"...and from there the story book goes on....now I am down to the last 2 and they have been my best buds for years....a ferret is a great pet but not recommended for younger children...

Rats, guinea pigs, rabbits, turtles, chipmunks, fish, lizards, and if you like to get bit then: hamsters, mice, gerbils, and if you have time to clean the cage everyday: ferrets or you can get birds.

GUinea pigs are good because if u want something that u can feel and warm up to thats it., But if u just want something that u don't want to spend time with it would be a fish.
