Portland. It less crownded, lot of greens, out door activities, except when it rain. It does not rain all the time, so don't be fool by other comment about rain in Oregon. You'll get use to it and learn your way around it. I've been to lot of place and always come back to Portland. Good luck.

I just moved to Portland OR. from the east coast. Its a lot more laid back here. It is very expensive to live in the Philly area unless you want a very long commute. The downside to the Portland area is the winter is very rainy. If you can stand the rain Portland is one of the most beautiful areas to live in.

that is not a nasty position to stay. that is plenty crappier climate than SoCal, yet likely more effective than NYC. there is not as a lot to do in Portland, compared to both of those, besides the undeniable fact that that is compared to a cow-city or something. It has that is cool factors. the most suitable plus might want to be that out of doors interest is more convenient to get good of entry to. highly snowboarding, snowboarding, trekking, searching and fishing -- they're all very close to to Portland. Housing is often extra low-priced than both SD or NYC. that is honestly not fallen dramatically like some places, although. I have a chum in Las Vegas and the housing marketplace there has extremely tanked. a good number of people flow to the NW and prefer it, besides the undeniable fact that that is slowly turning out to be extra congested. The Portland section doesn't lend itself okay to the inflow of people and the city planners are literally not enormous on increasing the roads and freeways, purely attempting to characteristic to the commuter transit (gentle rail, busses) even although purely like 5 p.c. of all commuters use those. even as it snows, even an inch, the completed city is going ito a tremendous panic. prolonged storms grow to be significant complications for most of the city. I were to San Diego and if i might want to stay there, I likely might want to fairly of Oregon. that is a tremendous section. i have not been to lengthy island, yet from what I have study it type of feels quite severe priced. in case you may manage 4-5 months with a good number of gloomy climate and rain, that is not undesirable and that i might want to propose it.

Portland, if you like not as many people and more outdoors.

The Northwest is beautiful but it does rain lots during the winter and into the spring.

It also depends on the job you are getting, I can let you know what jobs are good to get here.

Go to Portland! I don't have anything against Philly, but I'm in Michigan and I wish I had gone somewhere warmer... and it gets cold in Philly...
