Hmmm, this is a very good question. If I personally had to pinpoint one group in particular that should be recognised, it would be Linkin Park. They have jumped tremendous heights in a very short period of time, influenced alot of people with their lyrics, and are just downright good musicians. I owe them alot because their overall essence is absolutely amazing. It must be a pleasure to know them. I am honored that such young men like themselves are indeed worthy of my attention. They've gotten a bad rap at times, but I say that's crap. They deserve better.

Oh man. Unfair question, because NO band that came after them made the same impact overall. Not even close.
So it's a damn tough question. But I think guys like U2 (modern?)
I sincerely Doubt The Strokes. Too short-lived.
