Get a can of "Red Devil" lye and a tub of lard from the grocery store. Dissolve lye and add lard. Mix thoroughly. Pour into pan. Wait a long time. Cut it up. Wash. Make your own lye by burning a bunch of hickory wood. Line a hopper with a coffee filter type material. Add ashes. Pour in water. Collect lye.
