Congratulations on your second anniversary! Two years is quite an accomplishment these days. :-)
I believe that the traditional second anniversary gift is supposed to be cotton, although there is a revised anniversary gift chart that lists gemstones as the gift for almost every year. This list must have been made by a woman. Lol.
While all of the responses here sound absolutely fantastic, I think that most couples who are in love appreciate something personalized as a loving momento of the occasion. A personalized gift can be cherished for many years to come.
My thoughts are maybe an inscribed watch for a man and maybe a personalized anniversary throw for a woman. My husband gave me a personalized throw for our second anniversary and I adore it. Cotton is for the second year anniversary. If you don't think of something made of cotton is appropriate try having a good talk with him. Communication is a key to a happy marriage. Congrats.

If you can afford it , Cartier came out with something called the Love Bracelet..It requires closure using a tiny screwdriver that you ( the giver ) keeps... and it stays on your wife's wrist for ever. as a symbol of eternal love and indestructible bond . How about returning to the scene of the crime. HA! Taking your partner back to either the the first place that you met or where you spent your first wedding night together and recapture the romance of that night. Congrats on your anniversary and enjoy.

I'd say a paid holiday (week-end away) somewhere nice... to get away and relax together... maybe at a luxurious spa retreat... you can book massages and pamper each other all week-end
