Okay. Some had stolen my cell phone. When I called it that person answered it. They quickly hung up when I inquired who they were. After consulting my cell phone provider I found out that this person downloaded 55 ringtones and text messaged up a storm. That's not the problem because the cell phone company reversed all of the charges. The problem is, on my cell phone are photos and short videos that are very sentimental (a video of my 2 year old daughter before she was killed by a drunk driver dancing) and other special photos. I want this phone back for those reasons only. (the service has been cancelled and a new phone is on the way). I have all of the numbers that the theif had called. I want to call them to plead with them to contact the person to leave my phone somewhere so that i can retrieve it. What should I say when I call?

For all of those THINKING that I didn't take care of my belongings...I've had the phone for 3 years! I cherished that phone because of the reasons listed. I don't know how this theif got it. All I know is that they have it. I should have known better than to come here for advice on a special matter. To those who have given respect and emotion....I thank you.

Here is an update. I called one of the numbers that was listed on my phone billing statement online. I had spoken to a lady. I explained everything including info not listed here. After going into the details she put me on hold and a talked to someone. (I could hear raised voices in the background) She comes back and explained that her son knows the person that called from that number and she was going to call the adult responsible for that teen (she gave me more info than I needed to know about that jerk) to have them drop the phone off at a McDonald's close by. We will see if this happens. Thanks again for those who had been understanding. I am human and I think everyone has lost something in some shape or form.

Tell them exactly what you said here. If that does not get to their heart, and pray for them, and see if you have the original tape that you downloaded on your phone and see if you can download it on your new phone. I hope I have helped you, and God Bless

It may be too late if the service was cancelled, but I would consider sending the person a text message explaining that you do not care about the phone, but you do care about the information on it and offer them a "no questions asked if return" offer...of course, don't text your address.
One other thing, and this might blow you out of the water, but you may want to consider a small bluff by also saying that your cell phone company offered to target the phone's location, but you wanted to give them a chance to make the situation right.

I wouldn't call at all. TEXT a message to them. That way they will read it, without trying to hang up. Good luck, and next time make sure you copy those pictures/videos onto your computer!
God Bless :)
