I believe they all only had one name, Lt. Apollo was Commander Adama's son yet wasn't Lt. Adama...so along those lines of thinking Starbuck was his only name. Starbuck was a orphaned as a very young child so there wasn't anything known about him or his vital statistics. There was one episode where he was matched up with his father though he was not told the truth.
ADDITIONAL: Wild Thing you are right! I cannot stand the new version! Not only did Starbuck's gender change but so did Boomer's, not to mention the race change....oh yeah didn't Boomer end up being a Cylon on top fo everything else? Nope don't like it, won't watch it I don't care what kind of hype NBC pays people to put out!

He was just Starbuck. And wasn't that series much better than the one that's on now? Can't handle Starbuck as a woman!!!

i loved the original series .. MUCH MUCH better than the new one.. its SO damn confusing !!!! they have TOTALLY ruined it !!!
and "starbuck" didnt have a first name .. and he was played by Dirk Benedict
and he was my favourite character on the show
