I would suggest the John Hacock observatory and not the Sears Tower. The Hancock has a beautiful view of the city, plus it right off the lake so you get the lakefront view. Its amazing and its especially beautiful at night. The museums are nice too. And you gotta shop on the Mag Mile, its beautifully lit this time of year and there are stores for everyone, at every price range.

There are plenty of GREAT restaurants in the city, but I strongly suggest you make reservations. Use opentable.com, you can view by types of food and location, and price. Also, dont be afraid to make a few reservations, you never know where in the city you are going to end up and you dont want to have to be rushing from one end to another. Just dont forget to cancel reservations you dont use, even if its 5 minutes before the restaurant will greatly appreciate it.

Be sure to try the pizza, Pizzaria Due has great pan pizza and Pizanos on Rush has great thinner crust. You cant go to Chicago and not try the Pizza.

I would not suggest Navy Pier, huge tourist trap, its just a bunch or shops and mediocre restaurants.

As far as bar/clubs, it really depends on what you like. I personally, try to stay away from Rush/Division. They are over-crowded, and run-down (stinky too). Its like heavy partying spring break style. But you might like that so, if you do, go go there. A good, but touristy place I still like is Excalibur, its cheesy but they have different types of music. Theres tons of bars/clubs though, Crobar is cool too, If you like the huge clubs its about $20 to get in. The near north side has a lot of cool places to hang out, especailly Wrigleyville, Lincoln Park, Roscoe Village and Bucktown.

do a search on yahoo answer for 'chicago'....you'll get a lot of
recommendations from people who have gone to Chicago and love it.

as far as clubbing.....always start on Rush Street.
Make sure to take the Sears Tower to the 'top'.

This time of year....not too much as far as lake front activity.
Check out the museums and the Shedd Aquarium.
Go to Navy Pier........always something going on around there.

Also....go to CityofChicago.org.
They have all the current activities listed going on around town.

And when you get to Chicago and are looking for something to do.....just ask someone. Chicago people are super friendly and always willing to help.

Have fun and dress warm.
