the only way i know if is to turn everything off anf get to work. the hardest step is just getting up and making yourself do it. after that it gets easier. maybe not easy, but easier.

Three years ago when my partner left me I spent all day every day for two months on the PC or watching the TV
In a moment of inspiration, I took my TV out into the car park and took the PC out there too. I donated the TV to an old peoples lounge and ran my PC over three times with my Volvo 740.
I did not replace either for 2 years.
Three years later I have a newer TV that is only on when my daughter watches, it and I spend only minimal time on the new PC unless, like tonight, I have nothing better to be doing. (waiting for laundry to finish).

It's addicting isn't it? And so easy to get caught up....I have the t.v. on and I'm here as well..
And, like you, I have other things to do...
It's not really a matter of strategy...It's a matter of doing all the things you want, and what needs to be done.
Say, for instance.....go do some of your work, come back here and answer a few more questions...Or just be strong and shut her down until your work is done. We'll still be here when you come back.....right?
You can do all of it...just in moderation......
Make sense?
So, go do some work...and we'll talk to you later...
Myself...I'm going to go do some laundry after one more question...hahaha....
good luck! ! !

It's a common problem, i know! What about this....... set yourself 20 mins of 'work' and then 5 mins of yahoo time, then back to work for etc etc. (or do an hour of each, whatever suits)
If that does not work throw the tv and computer out of the window!!!!!

with tv , look at tv guide and circle the programs you want to watch, there wont be many.only watch the ones youve circled as you know the rest are rubbish.this will save you days in the long run.
or stop watching tv altogether.listen to radio or music as you can do other stuff at the same time

Really, try to make a list of specifices, or an outline, of the stuff you have to do written on paper; scheduale things, and get into a habitit of following that scheduale. Not everything has to be done in one day if you let it, do things one day at a time.

Get what ever work you have done first. Watch T.V. and be on Internet after you are finished with everything. Make it a habit and then you can goof off longer knowing your work is done..

write out a list of what you need to do...in order of importance then literally force yourself to get up and start, once you start it will be muh easier. Then say after a certain amount of work i will reward myself with 15 mins on the internet or a break doing whatever floats your boat! good luck.

It's just a matter of not having self control. I'm in the same boat. I hope you get some good advice that I can use as well.
