i ask because i was talking to some guy and he said he cant get hard unless he is being touched. does it vary from guy to guy?

yes you can get one, but contact is necessary for ejaculation

It varies from male to male, obviously. Age also plays a major factor in this; if the male is young, it will be easier for him to be arroused (i.e. get a hard on) without any physical stimulation.
However, there are many factors that can influence this. Not all guys are designed the same way, and some folks will find it easier to get an eretion without physical stimulation than others...
For myself, it also varies from day to day. Some days I get an erection just looking at my wife lighting up a cigarette, while others it feels like we have to tug on it for 10 minutes before it gets hard...

Sounds like the fellow may have a few hang ups as there wouldnt be too many guys who couldnt get an erection without touching. Most guys get an erection just thinking about touching or seeing an attractive women in her undies. My hubby never seems to have any trouble and it usually isnt safe to even walk through the room in my knickers or the problem I usually have is getting rid of an erection that isnt mine.

The amount and type of stimulation required to bring a guy to erection does vary widely from one guy to another and even from one time to another with one guy. At times I can get erect just thinking about an event yet other days I need the physical contact to get things to rise up and be noticed. Then there are my truly down days when bad weather, illness and other things all conspire to preclude any thoughts of popping up.

Yes, it is very possible. If you are a man, you would observe that sometimes early in the morning when you get up, you have erections. I think it is as a result of blood supply in your system.

I think men can get turned on just by visually seeing something that could arouse them, which could give them an erection. Also, I heard that they get erections even when they are cold sometimes, not just from sexual-ness.

obviously im not a guy but if you think about just by seeing a girl in a short skirt can do the same thing or watching porn can too. even saying certain things can make him hard. a guys imagintion runs wild with one thought

Younger guys can get aroused by visual stimuli very easily. Older guys often need manual stimulation, either from their partners or from themselves (during masterbation).
