my girlfriend has persuaded me to go to a fancy dress party with her as a girl, but i don't want to look like a drag queen what should i do to make it look convincing- im not gay and this is just for a laugh but i dont want to look like ive made no effort
i was thinking of wearing a top, a long skirt with tights and maybe styling my hair coz its fairly long what would you recommend?

If you are slender enough the body is not as important as the hair and face if you want to go for real. But don't over do it. Light on the blush and eyeliner, Keep the lips a soft color (like from Origins). I would not do too much glossy lips. It sounds like you are wearing simply but elegant. Good choice. Try a sweater set with that long skirt. Depending on skirt color, brown or black tights and boots. And personally, I would put on the panties just because it keeps you in character. Have fun!

DON'T do a lot of make up. If you hair is to youy shoulders or a few inches shorter, pull the top half back and make iit a messy bun type thing. Keep things simple and use a bit of jewlery. If you ears aren't pierced than but simple hoop clip ons. Add a jacket if possible and stuff a bra with booby pads instead of tissue it will make them more believalbe. You might even get a number or 2!

Dont over accesorize, and go with light makeup, not a plasterers nightmare.
Normal hair swap the parting over to the right, or centre it up.... use gel maybe that up to you, hair's easy.
Shoes are gonna be expensive (try TK-max if you live near one) Skirt and top is ok, boxers underneath will help you feel less daft, and if you get "lifted" by your mates they want to see boxers.... they see knickers and youre in a BIG heap of trouble.
Make sure you dont use 5 day mascara or lippy, and be carefull about strong colours on nails, it can stain. clip on ear rings if youre not peirced, ot magnetic ones from claires accessories.
I don't know any of this.... I'm just guessing... ok ?!!

Make sure you stuff that shirt!! You should maybe pull your hair back, put some clip-on chandelier earings on, some neclaces, have your girlfriend do your hair, and you should be fine... haha... too funny though! I agree you should check out some drag websites just to get an idea

The fashion divide between what women wear and what men wear these days isnt as different as it use to be, take Russel Brand' for example. If you want to go as a convincing woman, get something like a 'Wonder Woman' outfit ???
