Try http://www.vault.com
I'm kind of in the same boat as you. I got a book a long time ago that was recommended by my sister who manages a book store: What Color is your Parachute?
It's supposed to help you figure out which career field you should be in. I should really pick it up and read it! Good luck to you! :)

Is there some sort of an employment resource place in your town or city? They should be able to assist you with that for free. Tests are available like the myers-briggs indicator to determine your personality type and what field you should be working in.

Got 2 in mind.

Salary.com. You input the occupation, and Zip Code where job is. Your results will show names of positions, their typical duties and the salary range for that position. I like this one.

Hotjobs.Yahoo.com. Similar to above site. Input occupation title and Zip code.

I doubt it, but try Google, you might get some census data, but it would be several years old.
