I love the Sloppy Firsts Trilogy by Megan McCafferty, but I know once I'm finished with the last of them (and my David Sedaris novel), I'll be clueless on what to read next! Does anyone have suggestions for me? I'm mostly looking for humorous books since I'm buying them for an exhaustingly long plane ride, but with sophisticated humor, if you know what I mean. Nothing too obnoxious.

Some of these books are funny, some aren't. But I loved them all. I wish I knew of more humorous books that aren't vulgar.

Sabriel by Garth Nix- dark in places but with good dry humor. The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde- one of the funniest books I have ever read, though you read some knowledge of the classics to get maximum enjoyment from the humor. Guards, Guards by Terry Pratchett- amazing British fantasy/satire, funny, yet strangely profound. Freddy and Fredericka- this satire is 553 pages long, but it is one of the most rewarding and hilarious books I have read all year.

Anything by Douglas Adams. He wrote the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy but he also wrote several other books not related to the series that are hilarious.
