It is possible. Only problem is that you will 280BHP front wheel drive suicide monster on a normal sedan. You will be going for a suicide mission due to understeer.

It will, but this will likely be way more trouble than it is worth. You won't have the suspension or brakes from the Evo, and the driveline in the Evo is AWD, but the regular lancer is FWD. You may have to cut and weld to get the rear differential in, and the rear suspension in the lancer is probably not set up for driveshafts. If you have a salvaged Evo engine you should sell it to someone who has blown their engine overboosting it, sell your lancer, and then buy an Evo. Good luck, it is a fantastic car.
