I never want to do my homework or chores and I stay up late and can't get up the next day. I don't understand why she even cares. It's my life. I'm almost 15.

She cares b/c that's a mother's job. You should feel so priviledged that she does care enough to shed a tear. She wants you to have a successful life. What kind of life are you going to have if you don't even have the self-control to make yourself go to school at the age of 15? Do you want to flip burgers for the rest of your life? Your mom has probably made sacrifices that you could never imagine just to keep you fed, clothed, and provide a home for you. And, she did those things b/c she loves you and wants a good life for you. How selfish it would be of you to throw all those sacrifices back in her face by just giving up at this point. We all have weaknesses, but you have to let those things make you stronger through hard work. So you have ADD? That means you have to work harder, and should feel that much more gratified when you do accomplish great things. EVERYONE has to overcome some obstacles. If life was easy, there would be no glory in your accomplishments. I'm also quite sure your mom would like a break someday from always having to put someone else's needs first. She will want you out of the house someday, and if you don't get an education, how are you going to pay rent, car payment, utilitites, gasoline, etc., on minimum wage? If you think you're such a man at the age of 15, then you need to realize that real men don't always put their own selfish needs first, and real men have the character to learn how to take care of themselves, and possibly their future families someday. I was a teacher for several years and there were so many kids who didn't have a mom that would wake them up to go to school. I taught 5th graders that had to get themselves and their siblings up and ready for school in the mornings, make sure they had breakfast, etc. b/c mom was too hung over from the night before, or just too lazy to do her job. Instead of griping b/c you think you're too old to be cared for, maybe you should realize how very blessed you are to have a mom that cares about you, and grow up, stop whining, and prove to the world that you are a man by your character, instead of trying to convince them you are with mere words.

I understand how you feel because i have ADHD myself and also a 17 year boy who has it .My son was put on medication and it helped alot .Are you on meds? I wish they would have reconized ADD when i was growing up but they didn't know anything about it 25 yrs ago. You need to understand how your mother feels . Put yourself in her shoes and how would you feel . It is hard on moms to deal with this because it's so frustrating for her. Get some tests done and try to help yourself . This is a life long thing for you believe me its not gonna be easy . Good luck and try to understand your mom. Don't be stupid you don't wanna make your mom cry!

She cares because she's in charge of your life until you turn 18. She also cries because she feels that you are wasting your young life by goofing off and she wonders what will happen to you as an adult without a job or skills to obtain one.

i am going through the same thing with my daughter. in fact, after reading this question, i had to look and see if it was from her. you don't realize what you put your mother through every morning. it's tough on everyone with all the screaming and frustration. you need to get yourself in to a routine and stick to it. you know you have to go to bed at night and get up in the morning for school, so why fight it every single day!!

Because you are frustrating the crap out of her! Of course she cares! She is your mother! It is not "your life"! If so then why is Mom getting you up in the morning???????

you are lazy and you need to go to bed early,go to school and do some homework.Don't blame it on the ADD,because there is medicine that control it.
