My son's first tooth cut through his gums last night (he's 5 months old) and I was just wondering how long does it take until it's fully through, until I can actually see the whole thing? I know all babies are different, just an approximation? Thanks everyone!

it can take anything from 5days to 3weeks....as you said they are all different....but usually the front teeth come down quicker.....

It took my girl a good 3-4 weeks after we could see it poking through. Now she's a year and has 7 teeth all the way through! Sooo cute and funny because there are 3 on the top and 4 on the bottom!

My daughter's 1st tooth is still making it's way. It cut through the gums about 3 weeks ago and it's still not all the way out (cut all the way across the tooth, but tooth is not all the way out).

Even though she still seems to rub her tongue on it, it hasn't seemed to bother her for awhile. That first week it seemed to really hurt from time to time, but now she seems to just feel it out and the occasional chomp while nursing!

My experience with my kids has been around a month. Sometimes molars take 2 or 3 to come all the way up! OUCH!
