i have a very minor sprained ankle, how long shou;ld i wait before i start playing sports, excercising(weights), and doing plyometrics again

minor sprains take typically 1-2 weeks. But if it still hurts you much you should wait more. Also when you start, don't go for a heavy practice, take it lightly for a few days.
By the 20th or 30th time you get sprain, things will greatly differ :)

if it is minor. stay off for 3 days. Ice twice a day for 15 to 20 minutes. compression wraps or wear a ankle brace that you lace up. those are the best. and you can wear it when you start playing.

I would take a couple of days off and see how it feels. Ice it down a ton.

when it feels right to you if you start and it hurts wait a bit longer.
