Imagine being burned at the stake in front of a baying mob. Every worst nightmare you have ever had about dying has happened to someone.
What if no one actually dies peacefully in their sleep, but is the victim of a nightmare so bad it kills them.
I think its extended violence that I would want to avoid. Instant painless death in a car crash is possible. I would hate to die of my injuries 3 days later after suffering.

I hope I never have one, and no one in my family has one. I wonder what it's like for the people who do have violent deaths, and feel sad about it.

I think that you need to realize that there are people that have experienced violent death within their world, family, etc. and this question is offensive....obviously you have no clue as to what it may do to the lives remaining behind or you wouln't ask,,,,,

Hello Morbid, A person who die's a violent death cannot not move on. They are in between life and death. They don't know they have died and needs someone living to help then move on to heaven or hell.

My parents both died violent deaths (car accident). I would never wish that on anyone, nor, would I joke about it.

They always scare me. Everytime I see one on the internet, on the news, or in the movies, it scares me and I can't sleep or I can't stop thinking about it. One example is in the movie "The Grudge", Yoko died a pretty nasty death and that scared me for a few weeks.
