I think they were cancelled due to 9/11 but weren't when JFK was assassinated. There might also be a case or two where extreme weather may have influenced the decision to cancel a game out of concern for public safety.

The company's don't need more money. With all the comerrcials that get run in-game and sponsers, they make enough money to not need to fix them.
