I was 11 weeks on Friday when I had my ultrasound, I am 12 now today, but the doctor said that he was a boy! I was so surprised, I didn't know you could tell at 11 weeks, all I have ever read said the sexual organs aren't fully developed until like the 13 week. The doctor kept pointing out his little parts, and it sure looked like that was what it was, but he didn't say that I was any further along than I was. Have any of your doctors been able to tell this early at 11 weeks?

yes, i had my ultrasound at 12 weeks, and it was a girl, so I don't think a week earlier would make that much of a difference. With my second child, I had my ultrasound at 14 weeks, and the doc said it was a boy, I went out and bought all this little blue truck stuff, and when i went to have the baby, out came my little girl! So apparently it doesn't matter how far along you are. word to the wise, if you saw the ultrasound and weren't completely convinced that what you saw was a boy, don't take the tags off of anything you buy!

I have never heard of that but I guess he knows better than we do. I would try to get another ultra sound done like around 18-20 weeks( that is the best most accurate time) I would not go out and buy a ton of boy things yet. Just wait to make double sure.

Usually not untill at least 16 weeks.

Week Sixteen- This is a week of "mights!" You might hear the tiny thumps of his heartbeat with an external monitor now. The genitals are developed sufficiently that an experienced sonographer might be able to determine if your baby is a boy or a girl.

I dont think so. Your doctor might just be guessing but he cant fully be postive its a boy at just 12 weeks. thats ridicolous!

i've never heard of it. you might want to have him check again in a few months just to make sure. it could have been the umbilical cord he is seeing.
