Spotting is just that..it happens to me while I am beginning my period and at the end. Your period is usually the heavier bloodand clots--uterous lining.If it is in the same week or so it sounds like a prt of your period. If it is erratic you should talk to your gyno.... I am no expert. This is just what I believe at 40 years of age
