then after approximately 2 wks i am going back to work, anybody around knows how long it takes for the swelling to go away? i am afraid that the whole thing will not make much of a difference in my appearance...

If you dont think the operation will make much of a difference to your appearance, then why have it done. I had a friend who had a nose job, after it he had trouble breathing. He has had 6 further operations to help him and all it produced was a flat out of shape nose and he still cannot breath properly. There are risks with any kind of surgery and if you dont think it is going to make much of a difference, why would you take the risk?
