It really all depends on when the alcohol is consumed. Unfortunately I did not know I was pregnant with my daughter until I was about 20 weeks up until then I drank just about once or twice a month and she was fine. She doesn't have any damage. Ofcourse we freaked out when I found out but she is fine. Actually her motor skills are advanced. She's 8 months and cruising!!!! It really depends on what's going on developmentally when you drink.

It can, but it would depend on how much/how often. If you spend the first several weeks of an unknowm pregnancy bombed, yeah. If you have a glass of wine with dinner once or twice, probably not.
My mom was told it would take 6 months off the pill to get pregnant (this was 1969 and the pill was a LOT stronger then.) So, she and my dad planned a last hurrah trip to Reno, not knowing she'd gotten pregnant like 6 minutes after she went off. Well, she pickled me in vodka and cranberry and spent the rest of her pregnancy worrying that she'd done permanent damage. I assure you I came out just fine... all the parts function and my SAT scores were in the 98th percentile.
It's not something you ever want to do on purpose, but thousands of pregnant women drink before they find out and most of those babies turn out just fine.

I'm not a medical professional, but I don't think it would have long term affects on your baby.
During the first weeks of pregnancy the placenta is forming and is fully functional around 10 weeks. Until that time baby is primarily supported by a yolk sac.
I feel that this is God's way of protecting our little ones when we have no idea that they are there yet.
Having said that, I'm not implying that it is "ok" to drink in any stage pregnancy. I'm strictly speaking of very early, unknown pregnancy.

No it will not affect the child, The pill effects the unborn child because of the hormones in it.

no it does not have any effect for the unborn child, I was pregnant for 4 months i was still drinking beer, till i found out i was pregnant, of course i stopped immediatly, but, my baby was born healthy, I also smoked ciggs also, But however drugs and alchol and the pill while your pregnant is absoutly a no no, that will effect your baby

I did that when before I found out I was pregnant with my daughter. I asked my OB/GYN about it and he told me not to worry. She turned out just fine. Of course I didnt drink anymore after I found out.
