Hi there,
Hypnosis is very real indeed, I have been praticing it online for quite afew months. Some intersting websites you may want to look at are www.briandavidphillips.com who has free hypnosis script which you can download and listen to, also "virtual hypnotist" (pop that into yahoo) and also the virtual hypnotist yahoo group.
I have been hypnotized quite afew time, but never in person, though text and via voice on yahoo. Yes it is even possable to hypnotize someone with text. They just keep their eyes open. I could explain the experiance as thouraly relaxing and usually, if you trust the person, like your wrapped up in a doonah blanket, all safe and warm!! Your mind focuses on what the hypnotist is saying and everything elce fades away, and you are open to suggestions, might be something silly like you saw you friend do on stage, or it might be something seious, such as what a hypnotherapist bases their work on.
I have also hypnotized afew people and there are many differant techniques. The long drawn out boaring errikson style.. OR my fav.. INSTANT!! or fast inductions. Its very exciting to see how a person reacts to differant inductions and suggestions.
My friend is currently building a website you might want to check out to. www.spindizzyhypnosis.com where scripts and custom scripts are avalable.
I hope this helped! I probably rambled a bit..
OH before I forget.. the person who said only stupid people can be hypnotized is wrong and ver naive. that is like an 18th Centery Theory!!! LOL!! People who have a higher intellagence and an active imagination are the easiest to hypnotized.. closly followed by young children. People of a lower intellegnce are harder to hypnotize because they have a hard time focusing and concentrating!! hypno. isnt about relaxation!! its all abou tfocus!!
Im going to stop rambeling now.. i just get so excited about this subject ;)

i once went to a comedy show where a random group of people were sent up on stage to be hypnotized. i only believe it because one of my friends of the time was picked to go up there and i know, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that she didn't know the comic or anything like that. she had no prior directions, just what he was saying.
i noticed that he makes them take many deep breaths quite quickly. try doing that to yourself at home, your head gets dizzy. i breathed with her to see if i would get hypnotized from the stands and i just got really loopy.
but i somewhat believe it worked on her because at the very end he sent the group into the audience to dance and she came over to our table at one point and ended up letting us put our faces in between her boobs as she shook around.
it should also be noted that i now consider hypnotists true american heroes.

It's like being employed at a pointless job in which you just aimlessly go through the motions day after day at the expense of yourself and the amusement of others.

I am not a college student, but I was hpnotized many years ago, and I want to say that I did NOT like it! It was a scary and creepy feeling for me. I was NOT in control, somebody else was, telling me what to do and I did not like that.
I hoped this helped a little.

It should be noted that often, but not always, the higher the intellect,
the easier the hypnosis.
