Creating an ally in the middle east, and creating US-friendly stability in the region. It hasn't worked so far, but if it does the future of the world would be safer.
I think the goal was to establish a large, successful, democratic islamic country. The ingredients seemed there: citizens discontented with a cruel regime, oil as a money source to fund the rebuilding of the country, and an excuse to invade (WMDs). I think the Bush administration really thought they could change the world. The only way to have true, lasting world peace is for every country to become some sort of democracy.
Like I said, it hasn't worked. And we should be much more cautious before going to war in the future.

its about oil, investments and world domination.
lets analyze each one:
oil: america (along with Israel) want to take over oil, which exists in huge amounts in the arab countries.
investments: america are investing in the arab world, for example almost half of saudi arabia belongs to americans, so they wanna protect their investments.
world domination: america's biggest threat is the arab world( mostly because of Islam), so they are trying to take over all the arab countries one by one to diminish the strongest power that will stand against them.
all these things are the real reasons for the war, and they are using lame excuses like saddam, nuclear weapons (we all know america have them)..etc
the sad thing is that america is trying to reach those goals not only by killing innocent civilians (arabs) but also paying with their young american soldiers' lives.
not to mention that Israel is behind all that as the "jews-arabs" thing which is a very old story is still a pain in their a***s.

Oil and revenge.
Human rights, nuclear weapons, and terrorism were just a convenient smoke screen.

money as war generates money....oil control as we have a national security law that was put into effect before 9/11 that states we have the right to take over any area to gain oil to keep our economy like it is. plus we went there for revenge for dad bush, plus we went there to start the new world order and to be able to gain a country outside of the USA as ours as a base for the new world order in that region.
its all in the end of days in the bible......Iraq is the old Babylon and we, the USA is the bastard child the bible speaks of. after all, we are the children of England yet have no king nor queen.....a bastard.
its much much deeper than just oil or weapons

Take away the human rights part and then i think its a blend of everything. You could also add killing innocent people in Asia.

You answered your own question.
Ask yourself this: did you vote Republican? Can you live with yourself knowing you did this and that hundreds of thousands of Iraquis have died because of the invasion?
