hey linty...

more sure...i think the hardships are like a test of life to see whether we can cope with it or not. every obstacle and every hardship that we encounter always teaches us something new, it makes us stronger and more assured of ourselves. if we are able to overcome that hardship through believing in ourselves and persistent efforts to get past it, then we always emerge as more confident, stronger and more sure of ourselves.

For me, it has always been a pain in the a..., but when the smoke clears and I look back on it, I ususally am a little better prepared for the next "crisis".
Life without those hardships would give you a kind of mundane life, wouldn't they?
Besides, it kind of makes you appreciate it when you manage to overcome something before it becomes a hardship.

I've had a LOT of hardship in life -- and for me, it STRENGTHENED my RESOLVE to SURVIVE it all and to come out stronger from each of the challenges I've faced.

There are others who do NOT have this approach to life, and fade when faced with adversity.

So it all depends on the personal strength and mindset of the individual as to whether they will face life's challenges/hardships with the attitude that they WILL overcome or give up in the end.

I think the hardships of life have made me more resilient and focused. It's important to have a sense of proportion and perspective when dealing with hardship. I live by the "c'est la vie" philosophy which is very comforting.

More sure, by far. You learn how to deal with a crisis and how to make decisions under stress. It's not fun, but if you don't learn by various challenges, you won't be properly prepared for the next one. Also, as you age you learn an awful lot about how the world works, which helps shape your decisions.

As with everything, how good or bad events effect people depends on the individual, and how they choose to respond. If you let difficult events knock you, they will make you less sure of yourself, but if you choose not to let them, and to learn and grow from these events, you will become stronger. Just as knowledge and experience don't equate to wisdom: it's how you apply that knowledge and experience, so it is with everything in life.

During the hardships I feel compeltely lost. However, once they are done with I can look back and see how I handled things. Hardships allow me to work on myself and further discover who I am.

it depends on how you get through them. If someone is really low because something bad happened to them, they are not going to want to go through what they went through again, but if they have something bad happen to them and they can still have a great time, then they are going to be more sure of themsevles
