Well the two are so different you almost cant compare. i would pick cross country but here is why. i feel although track is still difficult cross country is harder because:
In track: the distance is short (but fast) and you can let your adrenaline take you a long way. In cross country, the race is so long that you must dig so deep in your will and really "do it." Also in cross country you must control the adrenaline factor or less you may run your first mile to fast. Track is very competitive but when everyone runs togther in cross country, its truly a intense speculation that makes all the harship worth while

When I was in high school I ran cross-country. I could never see my self in track and field. I'm also a hockey player, and in the off season I used to run to keep my legs in shape. So, when high school came along I joined the cross-country team, and did very well.

In high school I ran the mile relay where 4 of us ran the 400. I loved it because I ran last, there was so much pressure and I thrived off of it. I was usually the only white girl out of all the last runners so they would all gang up on me and talk sh!t to me and try to intimidate me. Well all the anger would build up and I would pass their butts running. I miss that feeling

i would prefer cross country because you get to see and feel different(many)types of terrian......to me it also does not seem to feel as long..........because your seeing different things unlike track and field

but when it comes to sports id rather do soft ball..im in my hgh school soft ball team : )
maybe you should give that a try
