HELP plz i need mythological allusions for an english project. They have to be in everyday literature, movies, newpapers , things like that. If you know anywhere where i can find these or you can think of any plz let me kno!

I basically mean anything in modern society that has an allusion to mythology, perferibly things in the media. For example Morpheous is the name of the guy in the matriz and also the god of dreams? Does that help?

Nike - shoes, Greek goddess
Atlas - book of maps, mountain range in North Africa, Greek giant
Venus - planet, Roman goddess
Saturn - planet, car type, Roman god
Amen - end of Christian prayer, god of ancient Egypt

I'm sorry, could you explain the project better? Do you mean, (1) references to mythological figures in everyday life, or (2) modern literature/movies/etc. that have mythological themes.

If you meant (1), there is a website listed below to help get you started.

If you meant (2), you could do your project on "Star Wars," which is pretty much the hero's journey in space. There is also "Lord of the Rings," which is the hero's journey set in a fantasy landscape. These are two of the most obvious. Check out a copy of Joseph Campbell's "The Hero with A Thousand Faces" from the library as a starting point.

You would need to have read Harry Potter or you could try typing what are the mythological illusions in Harry Potter into the search. I did and many sites came up.
