I am not a psychologist but. Dreams are interpretations of the unconscious mind supposedly. Just like they say when you get drunk and loaded what you say or do is your true feelings. You might still have real feelings for him. There may be some unsolved issues between the two of you or there is fear that he might have moved on with his life, or that your relationship together was never as good as you wanted it to be and maybe wishes of having a second chance.
