I am going to get PS2 Online and I am wondering what I need. Also will I have to pay monthly fees or subscribe to something? Any answers would be great, thanks.

Depends on your PS2.

If you have the old PS2, you need a network adaptor (ethernet) with the cable and access disc. A broadband connection is also required.

If you have the slim-line PS2, all you need is the broadband (it's already pre-configured for online play) and a cable to connect to your modem/router.

There's no subscription fee or monthly charges.

There's no monthly fee for PS2 online, but you will need to open up these ports to play behind a firewall. Incoming ports: 3658 UDP, 6000 UDP, Outgoing Ports: 9550 UDP, 80 TCP, 443 TCP, 13505 TCP, 21300-21399 TCP. Also, make sure you have a USB headset. It greatly amps the fun level.
