My boyfriend just turned 20 and I had the same dilemma for his birthday. I ended up getting him a 'hibachi' grill, as my dad calls it. It's a tiny charcoal grill that I found at Walmart for like $10, it sits about six inches off the ground and is mainly used for tail-gating or camping. I got creative and bought a small bag of charcoal, lighter fluid, and a long-steamed lighter, along with some grilling accessories, like tongs etc. .. and arranged it all inside of the grill. It looked really cute and it cost me like 30 dollars tops.
He really seemed to like it- plus on the upside he makes me dinner on the grill all the time now. . .
It's a good idea especially if your living like me and don't have room for the huge grill that he wants. . . I realise that he'll want a bigger and better one down the line a bit but it's just perfect for right now.
Let me know if you need any other ideas- I have a few more that I've used in the past. I hope that I've helped you some. . .

My wife bought me a fabulous alarm clock some time ago. It synchronises itself with a central radio time signal every day, so it keeps its own time. It also has a projector for in the dark. When you press a button it projects the time onto the celling.
Another time she bought me a designer business card holder and pen set. There were only a few of them made of this design, so it is quite special.
And another was a tiny but very detailed model racing car in a presentation case. Nice. What is his dream car?

Depends how long youve been with him and what you want to spend! A video game? A chain (not the bling ones!) just a nice gold chain or something. A watch? Dog tags with an engraving on it? Thinking of something that isnt too expensive! some kind of gadget? lol x

A gift for a 20 year old boyfriend, that's a tough one. If you're looking for a unique and personalized gift idea, I would check out SoapSaysIt.com. They make romantic heart shaped soaps with your personalized message embedded inside. I got one for my boyfriend and he loved it. You can write all kinds of funny stuff. My boyfriend thought it was super cute, but I don't know what kind of personality your boyfriend has so its kind of hard to tell if its a good Christmas gift for him. The "Think of me when you're feeling dirty" soap was the one he loved the most.
