Could it be that the Universe is trapped in an infinate time-loop? Could it be that the Big Bang has happened (maybe multiple) times before?

Maybe every time the Universe collapses on itself it could be reborn with another Big Bang. Maybe when this happens everything happens over again. Ergo, it's possible we've lived these same lives before (maybe multiple times).

Is this possible?

And if this is true, could there be a way for us to break out of this cycle?

Although if we did try, that means that we've probably tried all the other times we've lived these lives as well!!

Wow, I have a headache now!!

You should do some reading up on Hinduism, specifically samsara, and Shiva and Vishnu. Not exactly the same idea, but a similar concept.

Not could, is. If matter is neither created or destroyed it only seems to be the most fundamental connection that energy in all forms being mass or energy exists on a continuum, now the time thing isnt so easy....but it happens in daily life. I cant rmember how may times ive been on a date and had a girl say i feel like ive known you so long, then proceed to ask if i get asked that question often. Go figure. Go physics, vodka and a good old fashion bowl of Northern californias finest.

You are very much on the right track. And your insights are supported by research into string theory. Well said. I believe we do live in this spiral and must work hard to try to conceptualize what it means for us.
