what's wrong with an automatic? Autos shift faster, and have more positive shift points. I'm sure if you raced the same car with the same setup only the other having a manual trans, you'd smoke the crap out of the manual. Performance shifting with a manual takes a lot more precision and experience than you might realize. One of the first guidelines to drag racing is that if you haven't raced a LOT with a manual and are fully comfortable with em, you should stick to an auto. I almost beat the snot out of a '92 stage 2 rousch supercharged gt mustang manual with an '89 automatic quad4 4cyl. even with his ability to stay in gears longer. And besides like the prev. answer, what you got is what you got. if the system is decent and you like your car, what else matters.

this is one of those borderline questions. It all depends on what "little mods" we're talking bout. Dont' worry bout transmission.. that has no value.
ex: a 747 boeing wing on a sedan with a coffee can exhaust TIP, and a system. Yes..that is poser!
a sedan with tinted windows, proper suspension(not cut springs) and a system... No, that is not poser.

no, automatic or not i feel that it is whether the mods are done with taste that sets you as a "poser" or not , i mean a porche whale tail on an escort is just plain dumb, most consider neon lights tacky, boom boxes more so ,a loud exhaust on an otherwise stock car is in the same league , but what it all boils down to is what you are happy with , it's your ride , people have fought and died for our freedom so enjoy the privilege we have , thanks for the chance to speak up.
