hey this happened to me too. I bought a new one at wal mart for 10.00 but then after I switched them out I found out that the space button comes off then you can get to the keys that need the cleaning.....It takes time but it saves 10.00......

There is two ways you can fix this. First try a freeze spray around the key. If you can't find a freeze spray turn a can of compressed air upside down and spray around the key a lot and then hit the key a few times. This should freeze the sticky soda and release the key. If this doesn't work and only if this doesn't work, try putting it in a dishwasher. You only have a 50% chance of the keyboard working when it comes out, but it is your only other option. Run the washer without soap and take it out before any warm drying mode. Give it at least twenty four hours to dry and see if it works.

Ok a keyboard is cheap, but a DELL keyboard isnt that cheap :D
My sugestion is to you take out each button, and clean bellow it...
All keyboards buttons are removable (Yeah, that requires some patience, i know)
I sugest you to take a digital picture of your keyboard, to not mess with the key order :D
The only button i sugest not to remove for cleaning is the space bar, it has a more complicated connection...
Well, good luck

it is because of the sticky residue left by the drying soda (all that suger !!!!) use warm water with detergent spray and cotton buds or kitchen towel - you should be able to prise the button cover off to help you clean underneath
