If so how was the transition? I am asking because in 3 years I plan on moving to atlanta.

I want to add that the move will be much easier if you have some kind of Friends/relatives/etc there. And you should be very optimistic about new place, otherwise it will be very difficult...
In my case the situation was different, and everything was horrible... I was a kid and I did not speak well the language of the country, I was very disappointed. Nowadays, the situation is different and I am quite happy.

I moved from Italy to London,England but eventually I came back to Italy because London is unaffordable,overcrowded and not so interesting as it seems.I would just tell you to leave behind you the possibility of coming back where you are as you couldn't like the place where you go

I have, and they key word here is planning! If you plan out everything ahead of time you should find the transition to be relateively painless.
