No. Happiness is an attitude, not an emotion, though it is most often expressed as an emotion.
To me "Happiness is knowing that you have everything you NEED (not WANT). Those who have nothing and are still happy, are the luckiest people in the world, or have a much bigger faith than the rest of us.

If you had asked this question a few months ago, i would had said the woman i was in love with, now i depend on myself. I've learned a very hard and painful lesson about Happiness, i was completely dependent on her for my happiness and peace of mind, instead of depending on myself for my own happiness, i got my heart brokened and learned the lesson well!

No. I find mine at the core of who I am. Depending on others or even things to make you happy will set you up for unhappiness. You chose happiness or unhappiness depending on your perception of the world. It has very little to do with things outside yourself.

I depend on my choice in who I associate with, which in turn gives me happiness.
Who gives me happiness?... My girlfriend, my family, and my friends. I as well give them happiness.

Nope.
I don't and I believe nobody should because it causes disappointment and expectations.
We should learn to make ourselves happy and we should learn to keep our mind positive.
If we depend on so many people to make us happy, what are we going to do when we don't have them anymore?
or what are we going to do when they stop making us happy?
Basically, we should be able to keep ourselves happy...keeping a positive attitude and not wasting life is all we need to be it too...we don't need to depend.

You should make you self happy first, to share that to the world.
So I depend on myself.

"True happiness lies within"-Can't remember if that is an ancient chinese proverb or I read in a fortune cookie. Whatever it makes sense to me. Anyone who has ever experienced a loved one in depression knows what I mean.

Of course, to a great extent - on my wife, my friends and my pets.
But not completely - if I'm not happy with myself, there's no happiness possible for me.
