Tell her how you feel. Tell her that you love and respect her. But be sure to make a point in the process.

You dont have to be disrespectful when writing a letter. You know your mom and you know what she thinks is disrespectful. Be as honest as possible so you can get your point across. This might be the start of you having a better relationship with your mom dont ruin it it by being disrespectful.

It would be better if you talk to her in person, but if you can't in a letter tell her these things. Tell her you love her and respect her, but you want to get a few things off your mind so you can clear the air between each other regarding some problems you perceive. Emphasize your love for her, but let her know what your problem is. If you are a believer, it would be good to say a prayer before and after you talk to her. Blessings be upon you and your mother.

I think it is an excellent idea, that way you can say how you feel, but you must ask her to reply, because it is her right to give you an answer, there for you might be prepared for an answer you may not like

"feelings" is right. keep it to how you feel without name calling. specific examples of what she said/did, and how that made you feel.
