i think derek is a queen a drama queen faking his way into peoples homes with his "speaking"to sam it looks more like he is speaking into his earring.and why is that earring so square it looks like a micro speaker giving him info read by someone else to him by "SAM" whats that our sam our kid(liverpudlian accent).very unconvincing i will see to him in hell.out i command you derek out

I would have to meet him and talk with him I think. When I discuss this with people, the most common argument against his 'ability' is that he is too over the top and theatrical. However, watching Derek when he is not 'posessed' or indeed even investigating anything, he is a larger than life character. Therefore, this is bound to translate into his work. Yvette Fielding once said that there are three possible explanations for Derek's psychic ability and posessions. 1 - He's schizophrenic, 2 - He's a very good actor, or 3 - He really does have the ability.

I don't know, but he is a good showman. Most Haunted has gone down the pan since he left.
Most Haunted is more about the crew and their newly developed psychic powers.
The live show they did from Pendle was a classic and that was because of Derek, I think they should bring him back as the new formula simply doesn't work.

Go and see one of his live shows and then you can see for yourself. I was a huge fan until I did. Now I know him to be a total fake showman preying on people's grief and concern for their departed loved ones. The show comences with an array of flashing rope lights set before a huge portrait of himself. He talks into the wings of the stage trying to convince the audience that he is in contact with Sam, his guide. For nearly three hours he comes up with about 3 or 4 names and attempts to match them to people around the auditorium. The rest of the time is padded out with an extended interval and lots of flannel and senseless gibber. Your programme(?) is £5. Thats it!! Most people left the show that I went to feeling very let down and disillusioned. Don't waste your money. Its utter nonsense.

Ive been to live shows and have all the dvds. one of the parapycologists made an anogram of " derek faker" and said it so derek could hear. the name was kreed caifer ( or silmilar). on the bobmin gaol episode derek said this name. and , suprise suprise.... no records of that person exist. this is from yvette her self.

Absolutely not, it was very fake. After he got set up by members of the crew, he finally left 'Most Haunted', and good riddance too!! The new mediums are so much better and accurate.

no its ridicules he puts it on it makes me laugh cause its so unbelievable like.... if you can hear me throw a stone and a stone appears from the direction of the camera man!! entertaining cause its so silly
