I just hope they fix the problems presented and do not squander their chance to do so. I just don't know what was going on 2 years ago when they kept Bush in?

At first, it will be really great. The Dems will undo some of the damage done by Bush and the Republicans. Then, the Dems will go overboard with reforms that reflect a small fraction of the population and most people (regardless of party affiliation) don't agree with.

Government works best when we have a mix of ideologies. Too much on one side always skews the results. A good mix results in politicians learning to work together for the greater good of society as opposed to working for special interest with deep pockets.

I look forward to the next couple of years.

I think that it's about time we got some balance in our federal government. The fact that the senate and the house are now controlled by the Democrats means that Bush will have to negotiate with the other party and it's constituents. Gone are the days of his incredible hubris and "you're either with us or against us" mantra. Hurray for the American people- who finally woke up!

They don't have that big of a majority, so the American people harldy expressed a mandate on the war or anything else.

That said, it really doesn't matter to me. Many people expect me to be jubilant because I'm gay, but I'm actually not. I don't trust the Democrats that much. But they will be funny to listen to, especially when Pelosi becomes speakerette (if she does).

it was just another 2004 election, only this time the other side got the few more votes to win, no land slide. but what will they do with ti is the real question, might we now hear what if any plan they have for anything. I am not trying to offend anyone, truth be told I honestly haven't heard, read, seen, anything from them to clear this up.

1. They will give amnesty to the 20 million illegal aliens
2. English will not become the official language, so you better learn Spanish.
3. Military spending will drop like a rock.
4. American will become 'little Mexico', with low wages for all and a general degrading of American standards.

If they can actually get us on the right track it is great but I fear there will actually be very little difference than when the Republicans where in control. The two parties have to cooperate to make any accomplishments.
