It may just be too early. First response tests have a sensitivity of 25iu. That means it can detect as little as 25 units of hcg, the pregnancy hormone that is produced by the baby. At 3 days before your expected period, even if you are pregnant, it may simply be too early and the baby (if you are pregnant) may not be making enough hcg yet for it to be detected. Not everyone will test positive that early, even when using a very sensitive test. Wait a couple more days and test again.

I have never had accurate results with the First Response Pregnancy Test. I would reccomend talking either with a local doctor, or your gyn about an in office test or if they recommend a test.
In order to get the best results, just wait until you miss a period before spending money on a test.

I took the first response early results test 4 days before my period, and it was right, I was pregnant. But everyones Hcg levels are differant, and what really matters is when the egg implants cause that is the time that it starts to make Hcg. So sometimes it might take a little longer for a positive in one person than another.

Which first response did you use--Early Result, One Step, or Rapid Result?? Each test detects a different amount of pregnancy hormone and 3 days before your missed period many of the first response tests aren't sensitive enough to detect it. For the most accurate result you need to wait til you miss your period and then use a very sensitive test--go to www.peeonastick.com for all the info.

yes! I wasnt trying to get pregant. I was on birth control but i had this feeling that i was pregnant. My breasts were sore and i felt really nausceous all the time. So i took a first response pregnancy test i think two days before i was supposed to get my period...and it was negative. But i knew i wasnt crazy...i knew that i was pregnant. So i waited a week and took another. It turned out to be positive. And also i have heard of this happening to lots of other women....so good luck!

Yes. I actually took 4 of these tests before the day of my missed period and it said negative every time. It is best to wait until you ahve actually missed your period. It is way more accurate that way.

Mine showed up the day before my missed period.
I had taken 2 others earlier, but I knew I was pregant (just a feeling).

False negs are pretty rare. Sounds like the test was taken too early. Wait until after you are late then take it again. I did take mine the day before I was late with my period with my twins and it came up positive in about 1 second!
