Because I've got to go to work usually. I work shifts though so my body clock is all over the place. I haven't got kids so on days off or afternoon shifts, I often have a monster lie in until 11/12 noon unless I've made plans to meet someone or have an appointment. Some days I feel down and getting up and facing the world seems very depressing and daunting but other days I feel much more positive and get up early, get lots done in the house and go swimming or a long walk in the countryside or beach and then I'm glad I got up! I vary in my thinking!

I normally get up about 7am.I get up mainly to let my dog go out so she can go to the loo, and then she has a good sniff around the garden to see is any cats dared to walk over her territory during the night. If she goes dashing down the back field, I know she has sniffed a fox, that makes her a bit cross. The last two weeks I have got up at 6am. because I have had a decorator doing the hall and stairways, and the wretched man arrives here at 7am. on the dot.

Most mornings, I get up ONLY because my kids are running around banging things and I HAVE to go to work. By the time I get them off to school, I'm too frustrated to go back to sleep. Back in the day, I used to spring out of bed and go for a morning run. I got out of bed to chase an "exercise high".

After so many years, it becomes more of an autopilot thing, you just do it cos it's part of your daily routine. I suppose I wake up because God lets me and it will be rude not to be grateful for life and make the most of the day by getting out of bed except when I'm unwell, then it's another story.

I'm one of those disgusting people that jump out of bed and do a workout. I've trained myself to get the excercise over with 1st thing in the morning. That way there isn't a chance to blow it off and I feel better the whole day long.

Work... I need to pay for my car. Also my baby on the way usually makes me run to the bathroom puking every morning. I guess you can say that motivates me to get out of the bed.

I get up so I can help others realize why they should get up in the morning.
Plus you know, music is pretty awesome and it's just too beautiful outside to waste.

And come on, food.

My kidneys! (not to be gross) Then I have to let my Labrador outside to unload "her" kidneys, I come back in, make the coffee, pack a lunch for my husband, bring him a cup of coffee, feed the dog and bird, make my husband a breakfast sandwhich, see him off to work, tidy up the house, take a shower & get ready for work myself. Aww....such is life.

Life in general. Don't let a moment slip by wasted... But if I had to pick one thing that I first thought of when I wake up, it would be my starbucks coffee on the way to work :)
