You should talk with your coach. I like running, but running on streets hurts knees so I run on soft sand--its actually harder to run on so it gives your leg muscles and lungs and heart a better workout. Some weights are good but use the right technique so you don't mess up your joints. Keep your agility too, some players are doing yoga and dance (!) to keep agile. Good luck!
