If you already have a university degree then it may be hard to apply to a college, although if you pick a completely different field then it might work. Colleges are very expensive in the US. However, if you go to a private school (at the bachelor's degree level) then you qualify for financial aid and depending on your family's resources may get considerable help (including grants that do not have to be paid back). State schools are not well equipped to give financial aid to foreigners.

Most Master's programs require hefty payment.

PhD programs, however, often fund the students so if you are ready for graduate work and have deep interest in a topic you could try that.

do not expect much in the way of financial aid or scholarships. even with them you still have lots to pay for. You can not get student loans from the US government or US banks. You can apply and once accepted, you can see what kind of financial aid you get. You are going to have to prove you can pay before you can apply for a student visa. Applications can cost $30-$75 per college. You may find an US college; tuition and room and board for $27,000 per year You need to take the SAT and get your results back before you apply. US students are applying right now to start college Fall of 2013 Just an note. we never call it Uni. US student call both university and college , college. ie I am going to college this fall at Ohio State University
