80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

There is no one answer to this mystery, life is what you make of it and to some life is a miracle to some a curse. It seems to me that the harder you look for the answer the more mystified you can become, me I stopped trying years ago.

The meaning of life is to live in such a way as when you come to die you can do it utterly knowing that you are unafraid, with no regrets still with a hold over you, knowing that you lived your life to the fullest, and that above all, you were loving - and that any mistakes you made, you made out of a heart that was open to experience.

Its possible that we are all parts of God the universal personality and consciousness. What we feel he feels. So what will be most acceptable to him and thus be forwarded by him and to which he will not erect unpleasant obstacles will be everything which increases the sum of feeling good and decreases the sum of pain in the universe.

It could have no meaning. Life is simply an accident. Although procreating seems to be the only purpose we live for.

To gain glory and revelation from GOD. To practice virtue and gain a divine nature. Commiting all my talents and earnings to God, so that my spirit in chance can be exalted just like Christ, whether in this life time or in the spiritual life after my passing away.
