My playstation 2 does not work it says no data found on disc?

my little brother wants to play his playstaion 2 but as soon as it gets to the home page thing it trys to read the disc but it says no data. please tell me whats wrong or what i can do to fix it

First clean the game you are trying to play, gently though, you don't want to scratch it while cleaning it.

Then put the disc in, but reset Playstation. Sometimes it loads the system menu if you don't have a disc in when you turn it on.

If that doesn't work the first time, try it a few more times. If it still doesn't work, try another game.

That should tell you if it's the game or your PS.

u need to clean the lens inside the playstation just buy a cd cleaner and for the cd itself use alcohol on the cd and use a white shirt to clean it bcuse if u use paper towels some of the might leave some dust. trust me i have a playstaion myself and it works when i mean acohol is not beer ok

is this playstation 2 brand new or is it old if so it could be the lens if its brand new check the game if it says no data found on disc it might be the game itself

I think the best thing for you to do is call technical support. The number should be in the manual that came with the system, but if not, you can most likely find it online on Sony's website.

I'm pretty sure the laser (Which reads the disk) is out of allignment.

But it's kinda complex. You can try it yourself, get a repair, or just buy a new one

its probably the disc clean it by blowing on it and wiping it on a clean surface like your jeans.

Does it do that with every game?
if not then the game doesn't work.
if it does it with every game.... your doomed.
